The High Holidays in Jerusalem attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. During the Hebrew months of Elul (August–September) and Tishrei (September–October), the city becomes a spiritual and cultural center with large Selichot prayers at the Western Wall, guided night tours, moving concerts and wide transport arrangements. Jerusalem once again welcomes both residents and visitors to experience its unique atmosphere
Concerts and major cultural events
The 2025 High Holidays season in Jerusalem features headline concerts: Ishay Ribo at the Pais Arena, Yonatan Razel at the Jerusalem Theater, Yitzhak Meir at Binyanei Ha’uma, and three large Selichot nights at Sultan’s Pool with David D’Or, Evyatar Banai, Shuli Rand, Haim Moshe, Amir Benayoun and the Revivo Project.
In addition, the city will host Yemenite Selichot at Beit Ha’Am, Andalusian concerts, and special joint shows by Kobi Aflalo and Shai Tsabari – bridging ancient tradition with contemporary music
Selichot tours in the Old City and neighborhoods
Every evening, hundreds of Selichot tours will guide participants through the alleys of the Jewish Quarter, historic synagogues and the gates of the Old City. These tours combine prayers, piyutim (liturgical songs) and storytelling that link past and present.
Beyond the Old City, Jerusalem neighborhoods such as Nachlaot and Geula will host unique Selichot experiences that highlight the city’s communal diversity
Public transport and parking for visitors
To accommodate the crowds, bus lines 1, 3, 111 and 333 will operate late into the night, and on peak dates throughout the night. On Rosh Hashanah eve and Yom Kippur, the light rail will run continuously.
Visitors are encouraged to use free park-and-ride facilities such as the Mount Scopus lot with 1,000 spaces, as well as municipal parking at reduced fees for Jerusalem Card holders
Jerusalem invites to a unique High Holidays experience
In the coming weeks, Jerusalem will once again transform into a global center of prayer and culture. The city invites everyone to join Selichot tours, attend concerts and feel the atmosphere of the High Holidays in the capital.
