On Zalman Shneor Street in Jerusalem, a curved downhill road branching off Herzog Road, a motorcycle collided with a private vehicle during the night. The two riders, aged 25 and 50, were seriously and moderately injured and were taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center. United Hatzalah and “Tzevet Hatzalah” medics provided initial treatment at the scene.
United Hatzalah medics Moshe Fordsham, Shalom Tork, and Moishi Freiman said: “This was a collision between a motorcycle and a private vehicle. We provided initial medical treatment at the scene before the riders were stabilized and transported to the hospital.”
Yanki Greenwald, a senior medic with Tzevet Hatzalah, added: “When we arrived, both riders were lying on the road. One had a chest injury and the second had lighter injuries. After stabilization and bandaging, they were evacuated to Shaare Zedek.”
Motorcycle Accidents on Blind Curves in Jerusalem
Zalman Shneor Street is known among local residents as a blind curve: a steep descent, a short turning radius, and limited lines of sight. Its proximity to Herzog Road, a wider and faster traffic route, creates an abrupt transition between higher speeds and a neighborhood street where drivers must slow down sharply. At night, when the road appears empty, reaction time shortens significantly.
In recent weeks, several motorcycle accidents have been reported in Jerusalem on similarly shaped streets. Road safety and emergency professionals emphasize slowing before curves, wearing full protective gear, and maintaining distance as key measures to reduce injury severity.
