The economic fight against terror reached a dramatic peak in Jerusalem this week. On the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, Jerusalem District Police and Border Police units raided the homes of ten former security prisoners in East Jerusalem. The operation targeted terror funding and assets allegedly transferred by the Palestinian Authority in violation of Israeli law

Seizure of Terror Funds in East Jerusalem

During the raid, large sums of cash were confiscated, including 79,978 shekels, 59,240 dollars, 8,946 dinars, and several thousand euros. All funds were seized under defense orders and will undergo forfeiture procedures.
Police emphasized that the confiscation of terror funds in East Jerusalem delivers a direct economic blow meant to block financial incentives to convicted terrorists

Luxury Cars and Assets Confiscated

Alongside the cash, four vehicles and a motorcycle were seized from the suspects’ families. These assets are also expected to be forfeited under the defense minister’s orders
According to police officials, the seizure of luxury cars in East Jerusalem was designed to send a clear message: not only the terrorists themselves will be punished, but also the luxury acquired through terror funds will be stripped away

Expanding the Economic Battle Against Terror

The raid also uncovered criminal elements. During searches, police discovered a substance suspected to be hashish and arrested a resident of the Old City of Jerusalem
Police stressed that the combined front of terrorism, money, and crime requires ongoing enforcement, making the economic front as critical as the operational front

Chief Inspector Yuval Kaminetz, head of investigations in the Jerusalem District’s central unit, stated
“This operation constitutes an important layer in the ongoing struggle of the Israel Police against terrorism and its supporters. The message is sharp and clear: the fight against terror does not end with the arrest of terrorists, their neutralization, or bringing them to justice, but continues also on the economic front. By seizing resources and funding channels, we will persist with full determination to ensure the security of the state
