Footage Shows the Jerusalem Chase and Shooting

About two weeks ago, a report reached the Shalem police station in the Jerusalem District about a suspicious vehicle moving through East Jerusalem. According to the report, the vehicle contained a loaded firearm, raising an immediate alarm. Officers quickly located the car and ordered the driver to stop, but he accelerated instead. Moments later, he halted abruptly, exited the vehicle holding a pistol, and began fleeing on foot.

The officers chased him through the alleys until he turned toward them, aiming the weapon directly at their direction. Within seconds, the police opened fire, striking and neutralizing him. The pistol, found at the scene, was loaded with a full magazine.

The 28-year-old suspect from East Jerusalem was evacuated to the hospital in serious condition. After an intensive investigation, the prosecution filed a declaratory statement ahead of a serious indictment expected in the coming days. Police emphasized that any use of live weapons against security forces will be met with firm and immediate response.
