As police forces arrived at the attacker’s home, a suspect tried to flee, was shot, and taken to hospital. According to Palestinians, another man who happened to pass by in his car was also injured by a stray bullet that penetrated his vehicle. Footage circulated online showed the wounded lying on the road at the scene.

The police operation was disrupted by rioters from among Shuafat residents, forcing the forces to use crowd dispersal measures, including tear gas.
