Palestinian sources reported that Israeli forces blew up on Saturday morning the house of terrorist Muthna Amro in the village of Al-Qubeiba. Amro was one of the two attackers who carried out the deadly shooting attack at the Ramot junction in Jerusalem less than three weeks ago, killing six Israeli civilians and injuring many others. An order was also issued to demolish the home of the second terrorist, to be executed later.

According to the Palestinian report, large IDF forces arrived in the village, located in the Ramallah district near Har Adar, between Friday and Saturday night. After the soldiers evacuated the residents from Amro’s building and nearby houses, IDF sappers placed explosive charges in the walls of the apartment. At dawn, the charges were detonated, destroying the two-story structure. During the operation, the forces had to use crowd dispersal means, including tear gas, to push back young Palestinians who tried to disrupt the demolition.

The Ramot shooting attack in Jerusalem

The attack at the Ramot junction occurred on September 8, 2025, when two Palestinian terrorists – Muthna Amro from Al-Qubeiba and Muhammad Taha from Katana – infiltrated Israel through a gap in the separation barrier near Qalandiya. They opened fire while dozens of people were waiting at the station as bus line 62 arrived. Six Israeli civilians were killed:
Rabbi Mordechai Steintzig (known as “Dr. Mark”), 79, resident of Ramot B, Jerusalem. Founder of “Dr. Mark’s Bakery.”
Sarah Mendelson, 60, resident of Ramat Shlomo, Jerusalem. Worked as a public relations manager at Bnei Akiva.
Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Pash, 57, resident of Tel Zion. Worked at “Kol Torah” yeshiva and was known for his charitable deeds.
Yaakov Pinto, 25, immigrant from Spain, resident of Jerusalem, studied at Derech Emunah yeshiva in Lod and was a counselor in a high school yeshiva.
Israel Metzner, 28, from Bnei Brak, student at “Meysharim” kollel in Givat Shaul, Jerusalem.
Rabbi Yosef David, 43, resident of Ramot, Jerusalem. Killed on his way to kollel studies.

The terrorists were neutralized by a Haredi soldier from the Hashmonaim Brigade and an armed civilian.

Weaknesses in the separation barrier

The gap in the separation barrier near Qalandiya and Atarot industrial zone is part of a long section suffering from chronic weaknesses. A 2021 State Comptroller’s report noted that only about 50% of the seam line was functional in preventing infiltrations, with some 1.4 million illegal crossings annually. Following the Ramot attack, security forces increased their presence in the area, but the gap remained partially open, allowing daily infiltrations. In the three weeks since the attack, Border Police near Jerusalem killed two more Palestinians attempting to cross through the same breach.
