Israeli police have completed the investigation of a 49-year-old suspect from Tel Aviv who was arrested after a series of violent acts in Jerusalem. This morning, investigators from the Shafat police station in the Jerusalem District submitted a prosecutor’s statement at the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court ahead of an indictment expected in the coming days.
According to the police investigation, on March 4, 2026 the suspect violently robbed a mobile phone from an elderly woman in Jerusalem, causing injuries to her face and a fracture. Shortly afterward, he allegedly threw a stone at a bus and shattered its windows, endangering passengers.

Police said that during a siren in the area, the suspect entered a public shelter in Jerusalem where residents had gathered for protection. According to the investigation, he began throwing objects at people inside and threatening them, causing panic among those taking cover.

Even after his arrest, he allegedly continued his violent behavior, spat at a policewoman and committed an indecent act in front of her.
