Jerusalem’s Old City walls and the Chords Bridge were illuminated this evening in the colors of the Israeli and American flags. The initiative, led by the municipality, was a gesture of gratitude to US President Donald Trump for the historic move that brought about the release of hostages from Hamas captivity in Gaza and the end of fighting
A Historic Alliance on Jerusalem’s Skyline
According to a statement from Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion:
“Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, salutes and thanks US President Donald Trump and the American administration for courageous leadership and determined action that helped secure the release of the hostages and the end of the war. This is a moment of hope and faith, joy and unity.
The move that made this possible, in close cooperation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Government of Israel, is proof of the power of a true partnership and a strong alliance between the two nations.”
