Jerusalem has taken a bold step into the future of education. The city inaugurated the Prisma Innovation Center, now considered the largest and most advanced of its kind in the capital. Located in the heart of Kiryat Yovel, the hub is designed to give students an entirely new learning experience – one that combines independent research, teamwork and creativity with the use of advanced technologies, including AI. With this opening, Jerusalem positions itself at the forefront of educational innovation

Spanning 1,600 square meters, the facility joins four other innovation centers already operating across the city. Every morning, students from 40 different schools will arrive to experience project-based learning, teamwork and creative problem-solving. On this basis, Jerusalem is setting a new standard for modern and future-oriented education

The choice of Kiryat Yovel is significant. The municipality views the neighborhood as a hub for both urban renewal and educational progress. Beyond school hours, the center will also operate in the afternoons and evenings as a youth space – offering cultural events, entrepreneurship programs, music production and digital creation. This way, Prisma is not only an educational facility but also a vibrant community anchor

Inside Prisma, special emphasis has been placed on digital production, visual communication, music technology and AI-driven learning. A diverse team of veteran educators, alongside artists, designers, scientists and entrepreneurs, will guide students in developing essential skills such as critical thinking, independent research and teamwork. Step by step, these tools are preparing the next generation for the challenges of a rapidly changing world

Boosting Jerusalem’s education system

The city’s leadership highlighted the center’s importance. At the ceremony, Mayor Moshe Lion said that opening Prisma is “a wide municipal initiative aimed at giving students the greatest advantage both now and in the future.” Deputy Mayor Hagit Moshe added that “this is a space placing teachers at the center of innovation, giving them advanced tools to guide the younger generation into creative thinking and collaborative learning.” Together, their words underscored that this is more than an educational project – it is a strategic step for the future of Jerusalem
