In Jerusalem, as the city prepares for the spiritual atmosphere of the High Holidays, the police are simultaneously deploying a wide operational effort. Reinforced units of the Jerusalem District Police and Border Guard are positioned across the city and its surroundings, aiming to ensure a safe and calm holiday for the many worshippers and visitors expected to arrive.
Security in the Old City and Western Wall
Against the backdrop of anticipated heavy crowds, the police are intensifying their presence at the main routes leading to the Old City and its narrow alleys. Special focus is being placed on the Western Wall, which during the holidays becomes a central gathering point for tens of thousands of worshippers.
Expanded deployment across Jerusalem
Within this framework, Border Guard forces join Jerusalem police in securing prayer sites, religious landmarks, and tourist attractions. Alongside the security mission, the police emphasize their commitment to maintaining freedom of worship and movement for all religions, reflecting the unique fabric of the city.
Commanders thank the forces in the field
On this occasion, Jerusalem District Commander Major General Amir Arzani, together with Border Guard Commander Major General Brik Yitzhak and other senior officers, toured the city center and Old City. They met with the officers stationed there and expressed appreciation for their dedicated activity during the demanding holiday deployment.
Call to the public: vigilance and responsibility
The police are urging the public to remain vigilant, to report any unusual incident to the emergency hotline 100, to drive carefully, and to show patience. In doing so, Jerusalem can offer both residents and thousands of holiday visitors a festive experience in safety and peace.
