Jerusalem is not letting winter slow it down. The Shaon Horef Winter Festival returns this February for its 14th year, transforming cold nights into a vibrant celebration of music, art and urban culture across the city.

Taking place every Monday throughout February, the festival spreads across different areas of central Jerusalem, turning streets, alleys and public spaces into open-air stages. More than 100 events are planned, featuring hundreds of artists, musicians and creators from Jerusalem and across Israel, drawing thousands of residents and visitors into the city after dark.

What makes Shaon Horef a festival you experience, not just attend?

Shaon Horef is built around direct contact with the city itself. Live music, DJs, performance art, circus acts, video art, dance and street theatre unfold right in the public space, inviting passersby to become part of the event rather than spectators on the sidelines.

How does Jerusalem itself shape the festival atmosphere?

One of Shaon Horef’s defining traits is its close collaboration with local neighborhoods and businesses. Cafes, bars, storefronts and courtyards become active participants, creating a natural connection between culture, community and the city’s everyday life. Each location carries its own artistic theme, giving every night a distinct character.

When and where will Shaon Horef take place in Jerusalem?

The festival runs on four consecutive Mondays in February, each time in a different central Jerusalem location: Heleni Street on February 2, Hatulot Square on February 9, the Bezalel area on February 16, and Hillel Street on February 23. While each night offers a different setting, all are united by Jerusalem’s creative pulse.

Jerusalem Municipality invites residents and visitors alike to wander between venues, discover art in unexpected places and take part in a winter festival that continues to position Jerusalem as a city of living culture and creativity in public space.
