Ahead of the Jewish holiday season, the Judea and Samaria District Police completed an extensive operational deployment aimed at safeguarding the public. The focus is not only deep inside the West Bank but also in tense areas adjacent to Jerusalem, where the proximity of Palestinian cities makes every incident potentially impactful for the capital.
Jerusalem and holiday prayer routes
District Commander Moshe Pinchi told his officers: “I am proud of the dedication and commitment of our policemen, officers, fighters and volunteers. Thanks to you, the district stands at the forefront of the fight against terrorism and crime, acting decisively to protect the residents.” He stressed that the holiday deployment ensures high readiness for any scenario, especially along the main roads leading to Jerusalem and near Palestinian cities close to the capital.
Increased readiness in Judea and Samaria
All district areas have been reinforced with police forces, fighters and volunteers. Traffic, patrol, intelligence, investigative and undercover units are widely deployed. Special attention is given to areas of Judea and Samaria adjacent to Jerusalem, including key prayer sites expected to draw large numbers of worshippers.
District emergency drill
A large-scale district exercise, led by the Operations Division, simulated real-life scenarios of terror attacks, shootings and emergencies. The drill tested operational continuity and the cooperation between the police, the IDF, Border Police, Magen David Adom, the Fire and Rescue Authority and other emergency services. The aim was to refine the district’s ability to provide a rapid and precise response.

Public safety during the holidays
The Israel Police emphasizes that in times of emergency, the public must follow police and IDF instructions. Any suspicion or unusual incident should be reported immediately to the 100 hotline. The heightened alert in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria is intended to ensure that worshippers and visitors can mark the holidays in the safest possible atmosphere.
