Additional equipment, documents suspected as forged and heavy tools were also found, valued at more than 100,000 shekels.

Food safety warning in East Jerusalem raid

During the operation, officers located a Palestinian resident staying in Israel illegally, who was detained for questioning at the Oz Station. Police officials said the plant posed a direct threat to public health, especially when food is distributed without approved labeling or safety oversight.

Chief Superintendent Avi Biton, commander of the Oz Station, said that “this operation aims to protect public health and prevent the distribution of dangerous fake products. Israel Police will continue to act decisively with all enforcement bodies to safeguard public safety and quality of life.”

Moshe Akharak, head of the agriculture ministry’s enforcement unit, noted that “our inspectors work tirelessly to ensure that the products reaching every home are safe. I emphasize the importance of buying eggs only from approved and supervised sources, with a clear stamp showing the sorting center and expiration date.”
