Yasir Yasin Musa Terawa, a Palestinian terrorist from Sa’ir near Hebron, died early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash – just four months after being released from Israeli prison as part of a hostage exchange deal with Hamas. The car he was driving overturned near the Nabi Younis junction, killing him on the spot

From Jerusalem to Hebron – A Short Road to the End

In June 2015, during Ramadan, Terawa, then 18, stabbed a 20-year-old Israeli Border Police serviceman near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. The serviceman was returning from weekend leave when he was attacked with multiple stabs to the neck and chest. Despite his critical injuries, he managed to shoot the assailant and then collapsed

Emergency teams found the serviceman in serious condition and transported him to Shaare Zedek Medical Center. Initially, police reported the attacker had been killed, but later clarified he was hospitalized at Hadassah and survived

Terawa, a student at Hebron’s Polytechnic University and affiliated with Hamas, had entered Jerusalem illegally. He was later tried and sentenced to prison

In January 2025, he was released after serving under 10 years. Upon returning to Sa’ir, he was celebrated and lifted on shoulders by a cheering crowd

Early this morning, while driving an unregistered or stolen vehicle known locally as a “Mashtuba”, Terawa lost control near Hebron and was killed in the crash
