The Jerusalem Municipality is marking Senior Citizen Month throughout November under the theme “Your compass to a healthy and happy life”. The city is launching a wide municipal initiative aimed at strengthening healthy living, social belonging and financial resilience among senior residents, with more than 100 events and activities taking place across Jerusalem – free of charge or at a symbolic cost.
Free activities for seniors in Jerusalem
Events will be held in cultural centers, community administrations, Cinema City, sports facilities and additional municipal venues. Among them:

“Golden Muni-lympics” – citywide sports competitions for ages 60+, including swimming, ping-pong, chess, walking football and bridge

A municipal conference on preventing economic fraud and exploitation in cooperation with the Israel Police, including lectures and movement-therapy performances

A health and sports day for women at the Neve Yaakov Community Administration with water-exercise workshops and fitness activities

A citywide health day at Cinema City featuring Zumba Gold, eye exams, alternative treatments, lectures and local agricultural produce

“Digital Monday” online sessions – guidance on safe online shopping, digital wallets and smart consumer habits
Jerusalem will also offer community-based activities including volunteering, wellness workshops, entrepreneurship meetups, guided walks, fitness classes and lectures tailored for residents aged 60+. Some events are free, others carry a symbolic fee, all require advance registration.
