The police are preparing for the visit of U.S. Vice President James David Vance, which will last three days and include official meetings and tours in Jerusalem and central Israel. As part of the national Operation Blue Shield 7, hundreds of police officers, Border Police troops, volunteers, and security units are deployed to maintain public order and direct traffic across the capital.

Starting at 3:00 p.m. today, access to Jerusalem will be blocked from Highway 1, along with the Shazar Tunnel, Ben Tzvi Boulevard, Gaza Street, Agron Street, Paris Square, Customs Junction, and King David Street.
During the visit, additional streets will be closed intermittently, including Ramban, HaNasi, Jabotinsky, Rabin, the government quarter, and the Old City perimeter.

Israel Police are asking Jerusalem residents and visitors to use public transport – especially the light rail – and park at the Mount Scopus parking lot. Hundreds of officers are operating throughout Jerusalem to minimize disruption and maintain traffic flow.

During the operation, drones or any other aircraft are prohibited over Ben Gurion Airport, southern Israel, and Jerusalem. The police will continue to update the public on closures and traffic changes until the visit concludes on Thursday.
