Arrest Following Online Content Monitoring
The Central Unit of the Jerusalem District Police operated in East Jerusalem this week, arresting a woman in her 30s on suspicion of publishing numerous social media posts supporting attackers and acts of terrorism. According to a police statement, the suspect’s posts included references to the 2017 Temple Mount attack that killed two officers, as well as other content suspected of incitement
Police reported that, following online monitoring of the suspect’s activity, investigators moved to locate and detain her. During questioning, police examined all posts and their context. Some posts included interviews with family members of the attackers, accompanied by texts containing praise and emotional descriptions of the events
Police emphasized that any online activity expressing support, encouragement, or praise for terrorism will be dealt with using all available legal measures. “The Jerusalem District’s Public Awareness Center and intelligence units work tirelessly to monitor, locate, and expose those inciting violence, with operational teams reaching their homes at any time to arrest them,” the statement read
