Footage from an apartment in Jerusalem reveals harrowing moments in which a man was attacked by his girlfriend during a severe domestic violence incident that ended with serious stab wounds and a grave indictment.

About two weeks ago, officers from the Moriah Police Station in the Jerusalem District were called to an apartment in the city following reports of serious violence between a couple. Upon arrival, the victim was found in the building’s stairwell suffering from multiple stab wounds and was evacuated to hospital for medical treatment.

Police officers who entered the apartment located the victim’s girlfriend, who was arrested at the scene. Inside the apartment, officers found extensive bloodstains, and in the kitchen sink two large bloodstained kitchen knives, which according to suspicion were used in the stabbing.

Domestic Violence in Jerusalem – How Did an Argument Escalate to Death Threats?

The investigation found that during an argument between the two, the suspect poured a bottle of beer over the victim. She then went to the kitchen, took a long-bladed kitchen knife, approached him and threatened: “One day you will be murdered.” Shortly afterward, she stabbed him in the leg while shouting: “I’m killing you, today there will be a murder,” and continued waving the knife in a threatening manner.

The victim fled to the laundry room in an attempt to protect himself, but the suspect continued threatening him, saying: “I will murder you, and the children will see it when they grow up.” When the victim later tried to leave the apartment, the suspect took two kitchen knives – one in each hand – and stabbed him several more times, until he managed to escape.

The suspect was arrested by officers from the Moriah Police Station and taken for questioning. While at the police station, she became violent, spat at officers, threatened a policewoman and later bit another policewoman, who required medical treatment.

At the conclusion of the investigation, a serious indictment was filed today against the suspect by the Jerusalem District Police Prosecution Unit, along with a request for her detention until the end of proceedings, on charges including aggravated assault of a partner while armed, threats, and assaulting a police officer in the line of duty.

Jerusalem District Police stated: “The Israel Police views severe acts of violence, particularly domestic violence, with the utmost seriousness. Police will continue to act decisively, with zero tolerance and full enforcement of the law, to ensure public safety.”
