A broad investigation by the Jerusalem Police fraud unit and the National Insurance Institute has uncovered an organized network accused of stealing millions in disability payments through false autism claims. The case has deeply shaken public trust in Israel\u2019s welfare system and in Jerusalem\u2019s institutions.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, the main suspect ran a private company that offered parents \u201chelp\u201d in filing disability claims, even when their children were not eligible. She allegedly forged medical records, professional reports, and signatures of known specialists while using parents\u2019 personal details to access the national insurance system and submit fraudulent requests.<\/p>\n
Some parents cooperated knowingly, receiving public funds under false pretenses. For each case, the suspect charged tens of thousands of shekels.<\/p>\n
Yesterday morning, the main suspect and several parents were arrested after weeks of investigation. Police searches uncovered cash, forged documents, computers, and other evidence. The suspects are being questioned for aggravated fraud, forgery, and use of forged materials.<\/p>\n
