Investigators mapped out the smuggling routes, distribution system and financial flows leading up to the raid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How was the drug network in Jerusalem uncovered?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation began after the seizure of approximately 200 kilograms of suspected drugs, prompting an undercover probe. Over time, officers used advanced technological tools and complex intelligence capabilities to trace the distribution chain and identify those involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As evidence was established, detectives from Shalem Police Station, together with Kedem precinct forces and Jerusalem YASAM units, raided multiple locations across the country. Seven suspects believed to be central to managing the network were arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Was a legal cannabis farm used to mask the operation?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the key suspicions involves the use of a legal medical cannabis farm in the Jordan Valley. According to investigators, one of the suspects exploited the legal facility to extract and distribute large quantities of illicit substances while concealing their origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, around 500 kilograms of drugs were seized at various locations, alongside documentation indicating extensive trafficking activity. Authorities also suspect large-scale money laundering, with potential asset seizures estimated at approximately 2 million shekels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jerusalem District Police stated: &#8220;This was a complex and prolonged investigation conducted using advanced methods, leading to the exposure of a large-scale trafficking network and the arrest of its central suspects.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspects\u2019 detention was extended multiple times. This morning, prosecutor statements were filed against four of the main suspects ahead of indictments and requests to keep them in custody until the end of legal proceedings.
