Nearby, the wildflower section features striking sages and blue cornflowers, creating a vivid and colorful scene. The South Africa section stands out with perennial plants such as geraniums, aloes, and golden sage, forming bold patches of color. In the California section, unique ceanothus species bloom in soft blue tones, alongside other plants that add an almost non-local feel to the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this season, the gardens offer a green, open-air experience with the option for picnics in well-maintained spaces, making it a popular destination for families and nature lovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the new train in the gardens and who is it for?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the renewal, a new electric train has been introduced \u2013 \u201cVivian\u2019s Train.\u201d Manufactured in Italy by DOTTO, it was designed to be accessible, quiet, and environmentally friendly, allowing visitors to explore the gardens from a more relaxed perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The train operates on weekdays during morning and midday hours, offering a comfortable ride for all visitors \u2013 from families with children to those seeking a calm touring experience. It marks the beginning of a new phase in the gardens\u2019 development, with additional projects already in planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which plants are blooming now and shouldn\u2019t be missed?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the highlights is the pale ceanothus, blooming for the first time in Israel with light blue hues that attract pollinators. Alongside it, the barberry shrub features bright yellow flowers and spiny leaves with a sculptural look, while the pandorea vine in the Australia section is currently covered in rich white blossoms, adding a unique touch to the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond their beauty, these blooms highlight the gardens\u2019 role as an active ecological system supporting a wide variety of wildlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jerusalem Botanical Gardens in Givat Ram are considered the largest of their kind in the Middle East, spanning around 150 dunams in the heart of the city.
