A video posted on social media quickly turned into a traffic investigation in Jerusalem: a 20-year-old resident of the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood filmed himself riding a motorcycle with his dog on it, in a way police say could have endangered his own life, the dog\u2019s safety and other road users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Jerusalem District Police, after the video circulated online, and alongside intelligence information received at the Oz police station, an inquiry was opened. The investigation found that the rider had filmed himself while the dog was on the motorcycle during an urban ride, in circumstances that raised suspicion of reckless driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident shows how a short clip online can quickly become material that leads to a police check, the identification of a suspect and a summons for questioning. In this case, police say it was not only an unusual video made to attract attention, but behavior that could have created real danger on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Detectives from the central unit of the Jerusalem District Traffic Division carried out actions to locate the rider. After he was identified, he was summoned for questioning on suspicion of reckless driving. At the end of the interrogation, he was given a summons to court, and the legal proceedings in his case are expected to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Riding a motorcycle requires control and balance even for an experienced rider, especially when an animal is added to the situation. A sudden movement by the dog, braking, a sharp turn or a fall could turn into a dangerous incident within seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this case, according to police, the rider and the dog were not the only ones exposed to risk. Drivers, pedestrians and other riders in the area could also have been affected. In Jerusalem, where many neighborhood streets are narrow, crowded with parked cars and full of unpredictable urban traffic, that risk becomes even sharper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Jerusalem District Police stressed that this was serious conduct, even if it apparently began as an attempt to create content for social media. \u201cThe suspect\u2019s inconceivable recklessness is the dangerous element that could cost lives and pose a real danger both to his life and his dog\u2019s life, as well as to other road users, all for the sake of filming a video for social media,\u201d the Jerusalem District Police stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police added: \u201cThe driver will stand trial for his actions, and we will continue to operate in the online sphere to locate dangerous drivers and remove them from the roads.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
