Jerusalem in 2026 is a city where it is difficult to travel far without encountering barriers, diverted lanes, infrastructure works or another traffic jam. Light rail construction continues to reshape streets and major routes, while work is underway at multiple locations across the city. Against that backdrop, the traditional Jerusalem March will take place during Chol HaMoed Sukkot, putting walking at the center of the city for at least a few hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Jerusalem March 2026 will take place on Monday, September 28, corresponding to 17 Tishrei 5787. Thousands of participants are expected to join different routes across Jerusalem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The march is one of many Sukkot events taking place in the city, alongside the Saharna celebrations, festivals on Bethlehem Road and in Ein Kerem, sustainability events and additional activities. This time, however, the focus is on the march itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event will include walking routes at different levels of difficulty, suitable both for families with children and for more experienced walkers. The routes will pass through Jerusalem\u2019s landscapes and open areas, with activity points and musical performances along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The routes are expected to finish at Sacher Park, where a festive family event will include activities and attractions. Different communities, families and visitors from across Israel are expected to take part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is where the celebration meets Jerusalem\u2019s transportation reality. Extensive infrastructure work is currently underway across the city, with major roads affected by light rail construction and changing traffic arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shuttles and transportation services will be available for participants. Visitors are advised to use public transportation and Park & Ride facilities rather than attempting to drive directly to the starting areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the changes taking place across Jerusalem, the march continues to be built around a simple idea: going outside and walking through the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
