During Sukkot, when Jerusalem\u2019s roads, shopping centers and major tourist sites fill with visitors, the city is also offering a different option: heading outdoors, exploring urban nature and discovering places and communities that are not always part of the usual tourist route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cGreen Inside and Out\u201d festival will be held for the sixth consecutive year on Monday and Tuesday, September 28-29, 2026, during the intermediate days of Sukkot. Dozens of events, activities and tours will take place across Jerusalem for children, adults and families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The events will focus on urban nature, sustainability, the environment and local communities, giving participants an opportunity to discover green spaces and local initiatives operating in different parts of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The festival is not centered in a single venue. Instead, activities will be spread across different locations throughout Jerusalem, combining tours, encounters with urban nature and introductions to local projects and communities involved in environmental and sustainability initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rather than focusing on one large stage event, the festival encourages visitors to get outside, explore their surroundings and see how nature, residential neighborhoods and community life coexist within one of Israel\u2019s most densely built and complex cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The dozens of activities planned as part of the festival are intended for a wide range of ages, adding another option to the list of family activities in Jerusalem during Sukkot 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alongside the capital\u2019s familiar attractions, the festival offers a different perspective on Jerusalem. Beyond the Old City, markets and museums, visitors can encounter natural spaces, environmental projects and neighborhood initiatives that usually receive far less attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jerusalem combines dense construction with open spaces, valleys, wooded areas and natural landscapes located close to residential neighborhoods. The festival draws attention to this meeting point, presenting the urban environment as part of everyday life rather than simply as a destination outside the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
