A 40-year-old Palestinian worker from the village of as-Sawahira ash-Sharqiya, southeast of Jerusalem, was killed in a tragic work accident on Tuesday morning at a factory in Mishor Adumim, an industrial zone east of the city. The victim, Nour Aweisat, was crushed beneath a collapsed lifting device. Fire and rescue teams worked for an extended time to extract him, but medics eventually had no choice but to pronounce him dead at the scene<\/p>\n

Rescue teams confirm death on-site<\/h3>\n

According to a statement from Kayed Daher, Arabic-language spokesperson for the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority, \u201cRescue units from the Binyamin region operated at the scene of a worker trapped under a collapsed lifting system inside a factory in Mishor Adumim. Due to the complexity of the site, special lifting equipment was required to carry out the rescue. Unfortunately, the worker was pronounced dead after the extraction<\/p>\n

Magen David Adom (MDA) reported: \u201cA man around 40 was killed after being struck by a heavy object. Emergency responders were dispatched to the industrial area following reports of a work accident<\/p>\n

Yishachar Einhorn, a volunteer EMT from the \u201cRescue Team\u201d motorcycle unit, said: \u201cWhen I arrived, I found a worker unconscious and without vital signs, after being struck by a heavy object during his shift. After firefighters freed him, we performed medical checks \u2014 but the severity of his injuries left no chance<\/p>\n

MDA emergency medic Asher Kenan added: \u201cWe were led to a worker who was unconscious and had sustained critical injuries from a heavy industrial object. Despite assessments during the rescue, we had to declare his death on the spot<\/p>\n

A pattern of death \u2014 and silence<\/h3>\n

The Israel Police and the Ministry of Economy have launched an investigation into the circumstances<\/p>\n

So far in 2025, 38 workers have been killed and 298 seriously or moderately injured in work-related accidents across Israel.
Construction accounts for 61% of these fatalities, while industry accounts for 11%
The leading causes include falls from height, heavy object impact, vehicle accidents, and electrocution
