During a routine patrol in the southern Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Safafa, officers from the Moriah police station noticed a vehicle driven by what appeared to be a young man, unbelted and alone. They signaled him to pull over \u2013 and what they discovered shocked even veteran patrol officers<\/p>\n

Thirteen, Unlicensed \u2013 and Holding the Wheel<\/h3>\n

Upon stopping the vehicle and asking the driver to identify himself, the officers realized they were dealing with a 13-year-old boy who had apparently taken his father\u2019s car without permission. The teenager had no driver\u2019s license, no insurance, and no basic understanding of traffic laws. He was detained and taken to the police station, where a formal traffic proceeding was opened against him<\/p>\n

His father was summoned for a hearing with a senior officer, and the vehicle was administratively impounded for 30 days<\/p>\n

The Israel Police stated:
\u201cThis is a serious incident where a minor took the family car and drove despite his age, lack of license, and total absence of driving knowledge \u2013 posing a real threat to public safety. Thanks to the officers\u2019 alertness, the danger was quickly neutralized and legal action was taken<\/p>\n
