Throughout August, the Jerusalem Botanical Garden in Givat Ram will become a family activity complex combining magic, riddles and thinking challenges amid the garden’s natural scenery. The new event, “Magic in the Forest,” will take place from August 2 to August 31, Sundays through Thursdays, during the afternoon and evening.
The activity is designed as an interactive journey in which children and parents are not merely spectators, but participants in missions along the route. At the entrance, visitors will meet the head magician, who will introduce the story and send them to search for clues and solve challenges along the garden paths.
What activities will families find at “Magic in the Forest” in Jerusalem?
Each participant will receive a personal riddle card and use it to solve puzzles and thinking challenges placed at different points along the route. Magicians and mysterious characters will appear along the way, while street performances by mentalists will present mind-reading demonstrations and illusions to the audience.
One of the main attractions will be the “Speedy Escape” complex, featuring 23 different escape boxes. Unlike a full escape room, each box will offer a short, separate challenge as part of the route between the stations. The event will also include three interactive magic workshops and eight photo stations based on optical illusions.
Who will perform in the main magic show at the Botanical Garden?
Each evening, magician Cagliostro will perform on the main stage. The show will include large-scale magic tricks, illusions and active participation by children and adults from the audience. A kosher food area will operate alongside the activities, and shaded seating areas will also be available.
Tom Amit, CEO of the Botanical Garden, noted: “Following the great success of the summer events in recent years, we wanted to create a new experience this year that would allow children and parents to feel as though they were entering a world of adventure and imagination. ‘Magic in the Forest’ combines nature, games, riddles, magic and rich interactive content, turning a visit to the garden into a family journey full of surprises.”

When will the event take place and how should visitors plan their visit?
“Magic in the Forest” will take place at the Jerusalem Botanical Garden in Givat Ram from August 2 to August 31, Sundays through Thursdays, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Last admission will be at 7:00 p.m.
The garden covers approximately 120 dunams and displays more than 7,000 plant species and varieties divided among six geographical sections. During the event, Jerusalem’s natural landscape will remain a central part of the route, joined this time by magicians, mysterious boxes and challenges designed to keep children engaged throughout the summer vacation.
