During Sukkot, when Jerusalem’s roads, shopping centers and major tourist sites fill with visitors, the city is also offering a different option: heading outdoors, exploring urban nature and discovering places and communities that are not always part of the usual tourist route.
The “Green Inside and Out” festival will be held for the sixth consecutive year on Monday and Tuesday, September 28-29, 2026, during the intermediate days of Sukkot. Dozens of events, activities and tours will take place across Jerusalem for children, adults and families.
The events will focus on urban nature, sustainability, the environment and local communities, giving participants an opportunity to discover green spaces and local initiatives operating in different parts of the city.
What Can You Do at Jerusalem’s “Green Inside and Out” Festival?
The festival is not centered in a single venue. Instead, activities will be spread across different locations throughout Jerusalem, combining tours, encounters with urban nature and introductions to local projects and communities involved in environmental and sustainability initiatives.
Rather than focusing on one large stage event, the festival encourages visitors to get outside, explore their surroundings and see how nature, residential neighborhoods and community life coexist within one of Israel’s most densely built and complex cities.
